Elizabeth Fry Society

Background on the Elizabeth Fry Society is available through this link.  You will learn a bit about Elizabeth Fry’s life and her strong belief in equality rights for women. She believed that women should not be incarcerated and if they are, then integrated back into the community as soon as possible.  There are a variety of statistical documents that give specific data on such topics as Aboriginal women, violence against women and children, long term effects of abuse and trauma. Links to recent news articles relating to women in the justice system are also included.
