Understanding our Rights and Responsibilities

Creating a class charter of rights helps students understand how the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms can put into a practical application. There is a distinction between rights and privileges that will become clear as students work through this activity. Students are also required to design a guidebook for the rights of citizenship which focuses on collective rights.
