This online video resource (which can be ordered for free) contains footage of some high school students being arrested under the “Youth Gathering Act”, a fictitious law which is used to demonstrate the concepts such as rule of law and how our judicial system works.
This resource comes with a teachers guide, complete with full lesson plans, student handouts, games, activities, and appendixes. Although the lessons are designed to meet the objectives of the British Columbia Social Studies and Civic Studies curriclum, much of the content is directly applicable to our Alberta curriculum.
