School’s In: Exploring Canada’s Parliamentary Democracy

Written as a play, this activity based lesson plan, has students asking questions, reseaching answers, discussing their findings and ultimately running for office in the Canadian government.  The background of the play is that the Canadian government has a new youth program in which one student is elected as a Member of Parliament.  That elected person will have a say in how our government is run.  Prior to the election, a lot of background information is provided using student questions as a way to forward their learning.
