This resource created by the Parliament of Canada offers detailed background for teachers focusing on a variety of topics that support the Grade 9 Social Studies curriculum. There are ready made classroom materials that use the newspaper to enhance outcomes. It also contains a glossary of parliamentary terms using  plain language definitions as well as assessment tools that meet a variety of learning styles. Teachers may have their students participate in the People and Parliament to learn specifically about senators and Members of Parliament or the Model Parliament to learn how a law is made.
