Landmark Decisions: Cases that Have Changed Society

This site discusses a variety of landmark decisions from the Law Courts of Canada. They include issues dealing with Aboriginal Rights and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to name a few. Each case is explained in detail using plain language appropriate for secondary students. There are also discussion questions and activities designed for high school students included at the end of each decision .  Several cases relate to situations that students may find themselves in. Many of the cases have moved from the provincial court level to the Supreme Court of Canada.
